3 Day Devotional: Jesus is Lord pt.1 - Day 1

Day 1 — A Declaration of Divinity

Scripture:
Philippians 2:9–11 (NKJV)
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

John 1:1–3 (NKJV)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”

Reflection:
Paul reminds us that Jesus’ exaltation was not a promotion but a proclamation. The resurrection did not make Him Lord; it revealed what had always been true. Before there was a manger, before there was a cross, before there was a crown—Jesus was and is God. The same Jesus who walked among us is the same God who spoke the world into being. The name above every name is not a new title; it’s an eternal truth. The Gospel writers show His ministry, but John reveals His nature—He is the Word made flesh, Emmanuel, God with us. When God highly exalted Him, heaven declared what earth needed to know: the Jesus who served and suffered is the same Lord who reigns and rules forever.

Reflection Questions:
•Do I see Jesus only as a helper, or do I worship Him as Lord and God?
•How might acknowledging His divinity change the way I trust Him today?

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You were, You are, and You will always be God. Let me live today in awe of Your majesty and comforted by Your nearness. Amen.
