When Jesus Makes You Wait: 3 Day Devotional

Day 2: Jesus Still Cares

Jesus Still Cares

Scripture:
“Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. And He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to Him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept.” —John 11:32-35 (NKJV)

Reflection:
Even with resurrection in His heart, Jesus paused to weep with those who were hurting. That means something. Our Savior is not just powerful, He’s present. He knows your grief. He sees your tears. And He cares deeply—even when He doesn’t change your situation right away.

Jesus entered into Mary and Martha’s pain—not just to fix it, but to feel it with them. This shows us that God’s compassion is not cancelled by His sovereignty. He holds both our healing and our heartache.

It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to grieve. Even Jesus did.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for sitting with me in the sorrow. Remind me that I am never alone in the waiting or in the weeping. Amen.
