3 Day Devotional: Swords Up - Day 2

Day 2: The Strength of the Sword

Day 2 – The Strength of the Sword

Scripture:
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” — 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Paul doesn’t just tell us where the Word comes from—he tells us what it does. It teaches,
rebukes, corrects, and trains. It shows us what’s right, confronts what’s wrong, helps us get back right, and keeps us walking right.

This sword is not decorative—it’s functional. It’s not for display—it’s for daily use. Hebrews
says it’s sharper than any double-edged sword. Ephesians calls it the sword of the Spirit. In other words, this Word is strong enough to cut through confusion, doubt, and compromise.

But here’s the truth: the sword only works if you pick it up.

Question:
Where in my life have I been trying to fight battles with my own strength instead of letting the Word do the work?

Prayer:
God, thank You that Your Word is strong enough for the battles I face. Teach me, correct me, and train me in Your righteousness. Help me to put down my opinions and pick up Your truth. Give me the courage to use the sword You’ve placed in my hands. Amen.
