Well Done: 3 Day Devotional

Day 1: Entrusted With an Assignment

Scripture:
Matthew 25:14–15 (NKJV)
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them.
And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.”

Reflection:
Before any servant in the parable could act, the Master placed something in their hands. None were left empty. Each received talents — not equally, but intentionally, based on their ability.

This reminds us: God doesn’t assign resources randomly. He knows you. He knows what you’re capable of. The question isn’t, “Why did I get this?” The real question is, “What will I do with it?”

Comparison often creeps in when we believe more means better. But God doesn’t reward
quantity — He celebrates faithfulness. You don’t need someone else’s gifts to fulfill your
purpose. What He gave you is enough to bring Him glory.

Faithfulness begins with recognizing the assignment you’ve already been given.

Question:
What has God placed in your hands right now — and are you seeing it as an assignment or a comparison?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me to recognize the assignments You’ve given me. Keep me from comparing and complaining, and teach me to see the purpose in what I already carry.
