Teamwork: A Lesson in Trust 3-Day Devotional

Day 3: The Beauty — and Tension — of Teamwork

Scripture:
"So Moses heeded the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said. And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people..." — Exodus 18:24–25 (NKJV)

"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion." — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 (NKJV)

Reflection:
Moses didn’t just hear counsel — he acted. He appointed leaders and trusted them to share the work of guiding God's people.

But teamwork isn't clean or easy. Teams move through seasons:

Forming: excitement and new beginnings
Storming: tension, conflict, and frustration
Norming: trust beginning to form
Performing: the team working smoothly and powerfully

In the storming stage, it’s easy to believe the team is failing. But don’t quit in the chaos!
Storming doesn't mean it's broken — it means it’s being built.
God strengthens bonds, clarifies roles, and deepens trust through the struggle. If you quit in the tension, you miss the beauty God is shaping.

Stay faithful. Stay patient. Stay trusting.

Prayer Prompt:
"Lord, when teamwork feels messy, help me to see Your hand at work. Give me perseverance to stay through the storm, and hope to believe that You are building something beautiful beyond the chaos."

Challenge Question:
Where are you facing tension in your relationships or teams right now — and how might God be asking you to trust Him instead of giving up?
