3 Day Devotional: Swords Up- Day 1

Day 1: The Source of the Sword

Day 1 – The Source of the Sword

Scripture:
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” — 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
When Paul says, “All Scripture is God-breathed,” he’s saying this Book has its source in God’s own breath. From the garden when God breathed into Adam, to the valley where He breathed on dry bones, to the upper room where Jesus breathed on the disciples—every time God breathes, life happens.

That’s what makes Scripture alive. Paul may have held the pen, but God held the power. This Word is not man’s best ideas about God—it’s God’s revelation of Himself.
So when we open our Bibles, we’re not just flipping through pages—we’re inhaling the breath of God. That’s the source of the sword.

Question:
If God’s breath brings life, what area of my life most needs His Word to breathe on it today?

Prayer:
Lord, breathe on me again. Remind me that Your Word is alive because You are alive. Help me to receive Scripture as Your breath in my life—bringing clarity, comfort, and conviction. Today, let me inhale Your Word and exhale Your truth. Amen.
