PUSH: 4 Day Devotional

Day 4: The Posture of Prayer

Scripture: Luke 22:42 – “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not
My will, but Yours, be done.”

Devotional:
Posture isn’t just physical—it’s spiritual. It’s not about bowing heads or folding hands; it’s
about the condition of the heart.

God isn’t impressed by fancy words or formalities. We don’t need to codeswitch with God. We don’t need to clean up our language, hide our feelings, or pretend to be perfect. We can comereal, raw, and honest. God welcomes the truth of who we are.

The ACTS model helps shape our heart posture:
  • Adoration – posture of awe and reverence
  • Confession – posture of humility and honesty
  • Thanksgiving – posture of gratitude and remembrance
  • Supplication – posture of dependence and trust

Prayer isn’t about performance. It’s about presence. God wants you—not a version of you. And
these postures help bring our full selves into His presence.

Reflection:
Are you bringing your full, unfiltered self to God—or just the version you think God wants to
see? What’s the posture of your heart when you pray—open and surrendered, or guarded and
rehearsed?

Prayer:
God, thank You for loving the real me. I don’t have to pretend with You. Help me to pray with a
heart that’s honest, open, and surrendered to You. Amen.
