3 Day Devotional: Built Different - Day 1

Day 1: Built to Fight

Day 1 – Built to Fight

Scripture:
“I have fought the good fight…” — 2 Timothy 4:7 NKJV
“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all
longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” — 2 Timothy 4:2–4 NKJV

Reflection:
When Paul said he fought the good fight, he wasn’t talking about throwing hands, clapping back, or chasing drama. He was talking about fighting to stay true to his calling—preaching the Word when it wasn’t convenient, holding on to truth when people wanted fables instead. The good fight is about keeping focus when you feel overwhelmed, staying obedient when you feel under-equipped, and walking in purpose when the world pulls you toward comfort. To be built different means you don’t collapse under pressure—you contend with purpose.

Application:
 Ask yourself: What has God called me to fight for in this season?
 Write it down. Pray over it. Commit to fighting with prayer, truth, and obedience—not
pride or fear.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for giving me a calling worth fighting for. Strengthen my hands, steady my
heart, and keep me faithful in the fight. Remind me that You built me for more than
comfort—you built me to contend with purpose. Amen.
