Fight or Flight: 3 Day Devotional
Day 3 — The Companion
Scripture: “May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often
refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains.” — 2 Timothy 1:16 (NIV)
Reflection:
Not everyone will run. God often sends companions — like Onesiphorus — who refresh,
encourage, and stand with us when others turn away. Sometimes it’s just one person, but one Spirit-filled encourager can make the difference between quitting and pressing on.
And even if people fail, Jesus is the greater Onesiphorus — the ultimate Companion who sought us out, was not ashamed of our sin, and gave His life to set us free. With Him, you never truly stand alone.
Question: Who has God sent to refresh and encourage you — and how can you be that for
someone else this week?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for being my faithful Companion. Help me to see the Onesiphoruses You place in my life and to become one for others. Keep me mindful that with You, I am never alone. Amen.
