A Mother's Confidence: 3 Day Devotional

Day 2: Confidence Revealed through Restraint

Scripture:
“Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.’” — John 2:4 (NKJV)

Reflection:
Mary could have reacted with offense. Instead, she remained composed. Her restraint revealed a quiet strength. She understood that God’s timing often looks different from ours—and she trusted Jesus even when His response wasn’t what she expected.

Sometimes our greatest show of faith is found in what we don’t say or do. Restraint isn’t
weakness—it’s wisdom. It says, “I don’t need to control this moment because I trust the One
who does.”

Reflect:
Are there places in your life where you’re tempted to react instead of rest? How can your
restraint reflect your confidence in God’s timing?

Prayer:
Father, give me the strength to wait with grace. Help me to resist the urge to rush or retaliate, and instead trust that Your timing is perfect—even when I don’t understand it. Amen.
