When God Made You: 3 Day Devotional

Day 2: God Knows You May Feel Insecure

Jeremiah 1:6–7 (NLT)
“O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”
The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say
whatever I tell you.”

Reflection:
Jeremiah’s response is all too familiar: “I’m not ready.” Insecurity has a voice, and most of us
have heard it. It says, “You’re not enough.” “You’re too young.” “You’ll mess this up.”

But God doesn’t silence Jeremiah’s insecurity—He speaks back to it.
He says, “Don’t say that.”
God challenges the narrative and reminds Jeremiah that obedience isn’t about being ready—it’s about being available.

God doesn’t need perfection to work through you. He desires trust.
In fact, your insecurity can be the very door that opens you to deeper dependence on Him.

Today, instead of focusing on your limitations, focus on the One who calls you.

Reflection Questions:
1. What insecurities have been holding you back from pursuing your calling?
2. How have you seen God use people in Scripture or in your life despite their weaknesses?
3. What would trusting God look like for you today, even if you still feel unsure?

Prayer:
Lord, I confess my insecurities—the ones I speak and the ones I silently carry. But You see more in me than I see in myself. Replace my fear with faith. Let my dependence lead to obedience.  Amen.
