When God Made You: 3 Day Devotional

Day 1: God Made You with Intention

Jeremiah 1:5 (NLT)
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

Reflection:
Before Jeremiah ever preached a word, God spoke a deeper truth over him: “I knew you.” God’s first concern wasn’t Jeremiah’s function, but his formation. In a world that measures you by what you do, God reminds you of who you are.

God formed you—crafted you with care.
God knew you—not just the facts about you, but the fullness of you.
God set you apart—there is something about you that is different, deliberate, divine.
God appointed you—not by accident, but by assignment.

You are not an afterthought. You are not a project. You are a masterpiece.

Today, don’t hustle for worth. Rest in the truth that you were made with intention.

Reflection Questions:
1. What are some ways the world has tried to define your identity?
2. How does knowing you were made with intention shift how you see yourself?
3. What specific gifts or traits remind you that God designed you with purpose?

Prayer:
God, thank You for knowing me before anyone else did. Help me to live from the truth that I was made with purpose, not just to perform but to reflect Your image. Remind me that I matter because You made me. Amen.
